Kickin' It For The Kids  2020

Grace’s Closet’s annual fundraiser event will be held differently this year. We realize the struggle COVID 19 has put on everyone personally and financially. These are difficult times for sure! The needs in our school system are still prevalent. Now more than ever we need the community support to rally our kids in providing basic essentials. In an effort to adhere to safe practices, we have had to rethink how we can raise money to supply closets in our 19 schools with clothing, hygiene items, school supplies and weekend food.  We have come up with a solution we feel will allow small groups an opportunity to raise funds for our operating budget. We are asking individuals to host a night of fundraising in a small gathering of their friends (8-10 people) in their homes for dinner and appeal on July 25th.

We are currently asking for sponsors, donations, fund a needs and hosts for our event and are hoping you would be interested in this opportunity. Your support is vital to our fundraising needs.  With your support, we can offer basic resources, such as clothing, hygiene items, school supplies and weekend food,  to every Oconee County student in need!  You will have opportunities for recognition as you would in a large fundraising gathering, yet in a more intimate setting.

Here are just a few things our 2019-2020 fundraiser helped to support.

  • Grace’s Closet is in ALL 19 Oconee County schools!

  • Over 750 students assisted on a weekly basis.

  • Each week over 75 food bags are provided to students who don’t have enough
    food for the weekend.

  • Providing new shoes to students in need.

  • All items are always FREE to the students!

We hope we can count on your support.  Your generosity will help build self confidence in our youth and make a difference throughout the community.   In the 2020-2021 school year, we hope to expand our Weekend Supplemental Food Program to include more students so no one will have to go hungry.  We also want to provide more new clothing in each closet, including only new shoes. It is a real confidence boost for students to be able to choose new, stylish, quality clothing and shoes!  Many students have never had new clothing or shoes!  We will continue to provide hygiene and school supplies at all schools, in addition to formal and semiformal dress and suit shopping days.  Please consider supporting Grace's Closet.  The need, sadly, is great. Many local students cannot afford to purchase these basic items.  You can help make a positive impact in the lives of our Oconee County youth.
